Family Group Facilitator/coordinator

New Position with the Restorative Approaches to Multiple Proceedings (RAMP) initiative:
The RAMP initiative brings together system and community-based partners to trailblaze a restorative approach to cases of family violence involving multiple proceedings. Those most directly impacted by family violence often find themselves having to simultaneously navigate the complexities of a criminal court process, family court process, and child and family wellbeing processes. During an extremely stressful period, families are also required to adhere to multiple, and sometimes contradictory, court orders and other requirements.
RAMP offers a response to family violence that puts child and family members wellbeing at the centre of the process by empowering and supporting their decision-making to meet their needs for safety. RAMP is grounded in international experience and evidence with models of family-led decision making (FLDM). The RAMP initiative is designed as a trailblaze to support community and system collaboration and transformation.
Current Positions: Halifax (1) and Bridgewater (1) RAMP Family Group Facilitator/Coordinator:
The RAMP Family Group Facilitator/Coordinators will be based in Halifax and Bridgewater respectively and work as part of a team to coordinate systems to support family decision-making through RAMP. RAMP Facilitators, systems and families will work as a team to support collaboration and problem-solving among system and com-munity stakeholders to ensure the development and success of family group plans in cases of multiple proceedings. The RAMP Family Group facilitator/coordinator at each site will work closely with initiative partners, stake-holders and be directed in their work by the RAMP Leadership group.
Role and Responsibilities
The position has primary administrative reporting responsibilities to the Elizabeth Fry Society of Mainland NS (EFMNS). This position will work collaboratively with other RAMP staff and project partners. Your day-to-day duties will be determined by the RAMP Leadership group and reflect the dynamic nature of the trailblaze process and will include:
- Work closely with the family group and in collaboration with all stakeholders from the beginning of the referral process through to the family group conference and follow up.
- Work to build a shared understanding of family group needs and opportunities for innovation within the current system and among stakeholders.
- Participate in all training specific to the RAMP project.
- Create and maintain files in line with records management practices.
- This position may lead working groups or sub-groups that are deemed to be appropriate. This position will have project development work responsibilities during the development stages of the trailblaze.

Job Requirements and Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in social sciences, social work, human services or 5 years equivalent training/experience working with criminalized peoples in a program setting
- Experience with a restorative approach
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
This position is full-time (40 hours/week) and may require the applicant to work some weekends and evenings.
**Salary**: $24/hr (+ benefits) with three weeks vacation annually.
The Restorative Approach to Multiple Proceedings (RAMP) Project is a collaboration between the Elizabeth Fry Society of Mainland NS and the Restorative Research, Innovation and Education Lab at Dalhousie University’s Schulich School of Law.
