Vice President of Finance

Tridon Communications is currently seeking a VP of Finance that is looking to take the next steps toward becoming a Chief Financial Officer. This position is based out of our Head Office located in Edmonton and will require someone that is strategic, dynamic and can add leadership value.
The VP of Finance is responsible for all financial and fiscal management aspects of company operations. They will provide leadership and coordination in the administrative, business planning, accounting, and budgeting efforts of the company, as well as financial leadership and oversight for the day to day operations of the business.
**Responsibilities & Duties**:
- Provide leadership and guidance to help execute on corporate strategy and vision
- Analyze cash flows, cost controls, and expenses to guide business leaders. Oversee preparation of and analyze financial statements to identify and report on areas requiring attention
- Lead the preparation of financial statements, financial reporting, month and year ends, development of metrics, special analyses, and information reports for short and long-term planning and operational/capital planning
- Create, coordinate, and evaluate the financial programs of the company to facilitate budgeting, real estate management, conservation of assets and long-term sustainability
- Lead the finance team with a focus on process improvement, efficiency, and high performance
- Contract, maintain relationships with external professional service providers (accounting, legal, specialist), and as required, vendors and customers, as well as business community leaders
- Develop or oversee, as required, the implementation of finance, accounting, billing, internal control and auditing procedures
- Ensure records systems are maintained and reporting is conducted in accordance with Accounting Standards for Private Entities
- Provide financial and business guidance to Branch and Business Unit Managers
- Provide solution based thinking and strategic insight to the ownership group
**Experience and Skills**:
- 5+ years of related executive experience in a business of 200+ employees
- 15+ years of professional experience
- + years in a highly dynamic growing business with multi business unit responsibility
- Knowledge and experience using Orcale Netsuite ERP
- Knowledge and experience of business tax strategies in relation to multiple business entities
- Knowledge and experience working in the Oil and Gas sector with knowledge of products and services offered by Tridon Communications and the telecommunications industry a definite asset
- High proficiency in software programs such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook) and Enterprise Resource Planning, and other accounting software platforms, experience with NetSuite preferred
- Ability to develop and grow the finance team through delegation of authority, promoting ownership, accountability, and responsibility
- Solutions based strategic thinking with excellent mathematical and analytical skills
- Superior written and verbal communication skills with exemplary listening and interpersonal management skills
- Exceptional organization and time management
- Ability to provide dynamic and strategic advice to Ownership with the ability to manage upwards
- Ability to be assertive yet professional in dealing with customers, vendors and staff
- Ability to represent the organization and senior leadership at public and internal events
**Education**:
- Bachelor Degree from an accredited post-secondary institution in accounting practices required
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or equivalent designation required

We operate seven service shops in Fort McMurray, Edmonton, Edson, Hinton, Calgary, Saskatoon & Terrace British Columbia.

**Salary**: $120,000.00-$190,000.00 per year
