Empire Communities has an exciting opportunity as an Architectural Manager with the Low-Rise Product Development Team In this role, you will oversee the production and management of detailed working drawings while ensuring they comply with current zoning by-laws and architectural controls. Additionally, you will ensure designs are constructible and delivered on time to procurement and construction site team while maintaining compliance with company standards and building codes.
This role is located at our Empire Canada Homes Head Office in Vaughan, ON.
**What We Are Looking For**:
- A minimum of 5 years experience in an architectural role within the residential construction field.
- 3+ years of experience in leading a team with proven success on achieving critical deliverables.
- Degree or Diploma in Architectural Technology, Construction Management or related field.
- Skilled in handling numerous tasks simultaneously in a high-paced setting and proven ability to demonstrate sound judgment.
- Strong communications written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and the ability to create drawings within AutoCAD.
- Full understanding and knowledge of the Ontario Building Code (Part 9).

What You’ll Be Doing Each Day
- Manage the entire process of developing design drawings into comprehensive working drawing construction sets. This includes coordinating with various departments and external consultants to obtain necessary components, including but not limited to floor and truss engineering.
- Ensure that architectural working drawings are consistent with marketing materials, address any discrepancies and follow all architectural control requirements.
- Manage the architectural project time lines in coordination with projected sales launches
- Ensure designs conform to municipal zoning by-laws.
- Create and manage lists of lot upgrades and exterior color packages, adhering to both internal and external architectural guidelines.
- Conduct site visits to refine or correct details within working drawings and to review exterior color packages, ensuring they are aesthetically pleasing and are aligned with the overall design vision.
- Create and ensure that options and extras on a lot by lot basis are loaded in Newstar.
- Develop and maintain a portfolio of construction and architectural standards.
- Coordinate and issue construction releases in the appropriate order to ensure homes are built in the appropriate timeframe based on closing dates.
- Oversee the creation of a siting analysis on a project-by-project basis, ensuring its accuracy and alignment with architectural control requirements.
- Review and assess site sitings to ensure compatibility and prevent grade related expenses and ensure adherence to our standards.
- Ensure that sales material, renderings, brochures and schedules are completed prior to sales releases.
