Shuck Taylor's, is a oyster house that's open 4 days a week for lunch through dinner. We're focusing on crustaceans, mollusks, conserva tins and meats/cheese. No fish & chips here, Our reverence for shellfish is constant, genuine, and infectious. We’ll play favorites but our menu will change with the tides.

Currently looking for a Kitchen Manager/Chef - someone who can steer this ship with a spirit of adventure, balancing fun and productivity in the kitchen. This is a full-time position, requiring 45-50 hours per week to start and take foot off the gas as we find our sea legs.

As our Kitchen Manager/Chef, your key responsibilities will include
- Lead and mentor your small team of cooks, fostering a positive, fun, and productive work environment
- Manage kitchen operations with precision, cost control and inventory management which will be absolute
- Collaborate on the Wandering Mollusk retail brand and catering services, ensuring our event food and seafood boil buckets are exceptional
- Support our Pop Ups with ready to eat menu additions
- Liaise closely with aquaculture farms and take advantage of certain products such as barnacles, scallops and spot prawns when they present themselves
- Implement and maintain high standards of food safety and the utmost care for seafood
- Create innovative dishes that tell a story, and nuancing flavors of classics
- Have least two years in a management role
- A curiosity about sea creatures and a menu that incorporates BC Intertidal zone
- Strong leadership skills and a desire to mentor a team devoted to our high food quality standards
- Good communication skills and can effectively work with ownership
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment A fun and positive personality that adds to our lively working environmen

We offer 60k yearly plus gratuities, competitive benefits, a yearly activity allowance, staff outings and field trips to oyster farms and seafood facilities as we look to increase our knowledge base and grow with the industry we’re passionate about.

**Salary**: From $60,000.00 per year
