The House of Commons Digital Services and Real Property is currently looking to staff the IT Operations Team Leader position.
As Team Leader, IT Operations within our Digital Infrastructure Products and Services team, you will have the opportunity to leverage your leadership experience to oversee the 24/7 operations of a dedicated team, ensuring the availability of House of Commons technology services.
In this role, you will work closely with other IT operations units and technical specialists to meet operational requirements and implement effective solutions. Your responsibilities will also include overseeing shift operations, conducting ongoing studies on technology trends, managing internal customer relationships and supporting the development of annual business plans.
Some activities related to this position may require irregular working hours, overtime or on-call assistance to meet operational requirements.
The Team Leader, IT Operations also participates in a scheduled on-call cycle to coordinate the resolution of critical incident

**Qualifications** Education**:
- Graduation from a college or technical institute in the area of information technology, management or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
**Experience**:
- 5 years' experience in complex IT solutions;
- 2 years' experience in team management required, preferably in a 24/7 environment;
- Experience with a variety of technologies in monitoring-related IT fields;
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills;
- Experience in incident management and mitigation;
- Experience working with diverse personalities and cultures;
- Strong organizational skills;
- In-depth understanding of operations management principles, methods and best practices for coordinating with customers and third-party service providers;
- Experienced team leadership with direct reports in the areas of operational organization, resource management/planning, communication skills to effectively coordinate operational issues, engage colleagues in operational planning, and effectively supervise staff.
**Assets**:
- Proficiency in the use of ServiceNow as an IT operations management tool;
- ITIL v4 Foundations certification;
- Knowledge of Microsoft suites.
