We are currently recruiting for a full time **Accounting Analyst**, based out of our **Edmonton, Alberta** branch. The Accounting Analyst is responsible for assisting the Finance Team with accurate recording and reporting of financial information relating to all Alliance Refractories branches across Canada. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will support adherence to month-end deadlines while contributing to various tasks where the need is the greatest.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Prepare and process monthly journal entries;
- Assist Finance Manager with month end close procedures;
- Perform monthly reconciliations and identify discrepancies;
- Support the preparation of monthly finance reports & annual budgets;
- Support quarterly and annual audits;
- Enter financial transactions into internal databases;
- Support Finance Manager in various projects;
- Maintain spreadsheets and ensure accuracy;
- Maintain digital and physical financial records;
- Site Tracking System (STS) time entry and review, as needed;
- Coordinate PST self-assessment.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- 2 to 3 years experience working in an Accounting Analyst or Accounting Assistant role;
- Industry or General Accounting experience preferred;
- Business/Accounting 2-year Diploma from recognized post-secondary institution;
- Experience working in a unionized construction service organization is preferred;
- Strong Excel and database software proficiency;
- Strong attention to detail and ability to focus on priority tasks;
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines;
- Familiarity with finance regulations;
- Flexible, adaptable, efficient with strong organizational and execution skills;
- Experience handling sensitive and/or confidential information;
- Proactive, self-motivating, team contributor;
- Strong mathematics skills and ability to spot numerical errors;
- Understanding of accounting cycle and principles;
- Ability to effectively communicate at various organizational levels and with non-finance personnel
- Ability to learn multiple programs relating to various business functions such as J&E, QuickBooks, Profield, Alusta, Blackline, etc.

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
