**Description**:

- More specifically, but not limited to, the Social Services Counsellor:
- Provides comprehensive, timely, and high quality assistance and guidance to students regarding the full range of student financial support options, in adherence with all government and College financial aid policies and procedures;
- Researches and remains current in knowledge of changes to government policies and procedures relating to Quebec government student loans, grants and bursaries, and ensures the appropriate updates of knowledge is documented and shared as necessary; follows all related Ministry guidelines and procedures, and manages all administrative procedures associated with AFE;
- Works autonomously to facilitate the government loan processes including expertise in systematized processes for confirmation, compliance, amendments, refunds, returns, and reconciliation utilizing tools, resources, portals and technology associated with the loans program;
- Collates data, ensures timely processing and adherence to financial controls, processes annual compliance reporting systems on Collecte-Info;
- Responsible for resolving and researching complex inquiries from A to Z, as well as interpreting and communicating relevant policies and procedures;
- Implements, coordinates, and oversees one or more specific administrative programs and/or service areas related to AFE, as assigned;
- Develops, implements and maintains data management systems and procedures, as appropriate;
- Oversees selection/confirmation of recipients (of various financial aid programs/monies), sets up

disbursement plans, executes student notifications, maintains verification reports, writes/maintains/sends summary reports, including the following:

- Payment plans;
- Book Deferral Program;
- Book Loan Program;
- Parking Pass Requests related to Financial Aid Needs;
- Emergency Funds (Foundation);
- Food Scarcity Relief Program;
- Scholarships;
- Bursaries/Bourses Perseverance.- Is responsible for the preparation and delivery of outreach, workshops and fundraising events to promote the services of the Financial Aid Office;
- Organizes Fundraising Campaigns;
- Represents the Financial Aid Office at various functions and events, and leads group presentations and workshops on student aid related topics requiring knowledge and delivery of accurate financial aid information and processes, when called upon: open house, high school visits, orientation, etc.;
- Refers students to other departments, such as Access Services, Mental Health and Wellness, Academic Advising, Indigenous Student Services, etc., and collaborates with these departments as required;
- Evaluates current policies, system effectiveness and administrative processes; provides recommendations for changes or enhancements to streamline procedures, shorten timeframes, improve accuracy and support more students in accessing funding.

Other related duties which fall within the scope of the classification of this position may be assigned.

- Undergraduate degree in an appropriate field of specialization, particularly Social Work or related.
