As a community reporter, the successful applicant will get to cover a full range of news, community features, arts, culture and sports that will be published locally across the Greater Victoria News Group and potentially across Black Press Media's Canadian network.
- Superior writing ability and storytelling skills.
- Competence in clean, readable, and writerly copy.
- Strong understanding of breaking news reporting.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment and is keen to learn and develop their skillsets.
- Knowledge of basic photography and.photo editing

Videography skills, including shooting and editing, are integral.

This position is supported by a Managing Editor and Group Publisher.

This position offers an annual salary of $49,000-$51,000. Benefit include health and dental packages, a matched pension plan, car allowance and cellphone allowance.
