MacEwan University is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Worker for a full-time continuing opportunity with our Facilities Services department. You will be responsible for assisting the Facilities Managers, Coordinators and Supervisors with building maintenance and operations, material handling, and custodial support, while adhering to all safety regulations and safe work practices.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE**:

- Completing facilities tasks, like installing and repairing dispensers, delivering, assembling, and repairing office equipment and furniture, hanging shelves and pictures, glueing carpet or loose tile, installing signs and boards, changing locks, receiving goods for the University, assisting with special event set up and take down, and providing room set-up for classrooms and labs;
- Completing preventative maintenance work orders, such as replacement of HVAC filters, cleaning and inspecting air curtains, entrance unit heaters and mechanical room spaces, replacing light bulbs and ceiling tiles, performing visual boiler inspections, and recording operational readings; and
- Assisting maintenance tradesman.

**SKILLS**:
You will have:

- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly excel;
- Good mechanical and practical aptitude;
- Good public relations skills;
- Effective communication skills; and
- The ability to take initiative and be a committed team player.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A valid Class 5 Drivers License.
- A minimum of three (3) years of commercial building maintenance/operations experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

**Position Requirements**
- Physical movement which includes frequent lifting, bending, climbing, walking, and the use of heavy tools, ladders, and equipment.
- The ability to work at heights, while using a ladder or man-lift.
