Our **Vocational Training Programs** are very unique, and we stand out from other schools. We believe in traditional instructor-led training integrated with guided hands-on skills practice, and one-on-one support is always available. Technical skills are very important, we also concentrate equally on communication and interpersonal skills.
**Overview**
We are seeking a qualified **Instructor** for our **Educational Assistant Diploma Program. **This position will instruct our students how to assist with classroom management, instruction and provide one-on-one support for students. Educational Assistants play a key role in the implementation of Individualized Education Plans as well as Behaviour Support Plans for identified students. Educational Assistants are valued members of the school team and not only will you be aiding in the development of successful students, but also in the development of outstanding citizens.
The **Educational Assistant Instructor** is responsible for delivering course content in a dynamic and engaging manner; implementing and correcting assignments/projects; and actively implementing course curriculum. As an Instructor, you will observe and adhere to all company policies and best practices.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Instructional Delivery**:
- Develop and deliver engaging lectures, and sessions that foster active learning and critical thinking.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and instructional technologies to accommodate diverse learning styles and enhance student engagement.
- Provide clear explanations of course content, facilitate discussions, and encourage student participation in the learning process.
**Curriculum Development**:
- Design and update course syllabi, learning objectives, and instructional materials to align with program requirements and academic standards.
- Incorporate relevant real-world examples, case studies, and current research findings into course content to enhance its relevance and applicability.
**Assessment and Evaluation**:
- Develop assessments, including exams, quizzes, projects, and assignments, to measure student learning outcomes and provide timely feedback on student performance.
- Evaluate student work objectively and fairly, adhering to established grading criteria and academic standards.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to help them understand their strengths and areas for improvement.
**Student Support and Engagement**:
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel valued, respected, and empowered to succeed.
- Provide academic advising, mentoring, and support to students, including guidance on course selection, academic goals, and career pathways.
- Encourage student participation in extracurricular activities, research projects, internships, and other opportunities for professional development.
**Scholarship and Professional Development**:
- Stay abreast of current trends, best practices, and innovations in teaching and learning through professional development activities, workshops, and conferences.
**Service and Collaboration**:
- Contribute to the academic community through participation in departmental meetings, committees, and other institutional activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance interdisciplinary collaboration, develop new courses or programs, and promote academic excellence.
- Engage with industry partners, professional organizations, and community stakeholders to promote experiential learning and workforce development initiatives.
**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field required
- Prior teaching experience at the college or university level, with a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching and student mentorship.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment that respects the perspectives and experiences of all students.
- Demonstrated scholarly potential or achievement, as evidenced by research publications, conference presentations, or other scholarly activities.
- Proficiency in instructional technologies and a willingness to integrate innovative teaching methods into the curriculum.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, administrators, and other stakeholders to achieve shared goals and objectives.
