**Team & Job Overview**

The Corporate Sustainability Group’s Environmental Social Governance (ESG) Policy team is responsible for developing, implementing, and regularly reviewing EDC's ESG policies, which guides the organization’s risk management approach. Additionally, the ESG Policy team is responsible for monitoring and keeping abreast of top ESG trends. We are seeking to recruit an ESG Associate Policy Advisor, who will become an integral part of a multi-disciplinary policy advisory team composed of experts in sustainability, biodiversity, environmental and social risk management, climate change and human rights. **Discipline Summary**
- Supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of the corporate ESRM Policy Framework and other ESG-related positions, guidelines and resources.
- Identifies, researches, and analyzes ESG-related risks and opportunities for the operations of the Corporation and supports the development of strategies and positions for minimizing risks and improving decision-making.
- Communicates information regarding ESG risks across the organization.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Support the ESG Policy team on the implementation of EDC’s ESRM Policy Framework and other ESG-related guidelines and positions.
- Engage with a variety of teams across the organization to advance ESG initiatives and maintain momentum on the development and implementation of EDC’s environmental and social policies.
- Provide research and recommendations on the management of environmental and social issues and ensure alignment with EDC’s ESG-related commitments.
- Prepare presentation materials and resources for internal and external use.
- Monitor emerging ESG trends, conduct research and analysis and prepare reports on environmental and social issues relevant to EDC and its customers.
- Contribute to reporting and transparency efforts, including providing support for EDC’s Integrated Annual Report.
- Leverage influence, negotiation, and persuasion skills to engage in internal and external activities and deliver on the team’s and EDC’s objectives.
- Utilize strong interpersonal and communication skills to build a network across the Corporation, as well as effective time management and organizational skills to respond to ad hoc environmental and social risk related requests.
- Support the ESG Policy team, in a collaborative manner, on various policy-related development and implementation projects and initiatives as needed.

**Screening Criteria**
- Minimum undergraduate degree in environmental or social sciences or in a sub-discipline such as ecology, environmental management, environmental and social risk management, climate change, biodiversity, water resources, international development, sustainable development, sociology, human rights, gender studies, community relations & resettlement, law (environmental or human rights) or environmental engineering
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in policy research and/or development on environment and/or social issues or experience with E&S risk/impact assessments in the finance sector
- General knowledge of ESG issues or environmental and social (E&S) risk management principles and practices

**Assets**
- Fluently bilingual in both official language (French and English).
- Familiarity with international environmental and social risk management standards, including among others, the OECD Common Approaches, the Equator Principles and United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
