**Job Description**:
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of Island Health (Vancouver Island Health Authority), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:
Grade 12, Office Administration Certificate, plus three (3) years recent, related experience including two (2) years supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

**Skills And Abilities**:

- Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct administrative support staff.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to analyze and resolve problems within predetermined guidelines.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative and work with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to work in cooperation with others.
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize workload for self and others.
- Ability to type 60 wpm.
- Ability to perform mathematic calculations.
- Ability to operate related equipment in a computerized office environment, including utilizing advanced word processing,
- Ability to work with the following systems/computer programs: Cerner Office PM; PARIS; Meditech; Cerner Powerchart;
- Wolf EMR; ESP.
- Experience with event planning for large functions such as community health fairs.
- Comfortable with videoconferencing equipment and scheduling.
- Experience working in a primary care home environment including family practice clinic, community health services, and
- other Island Health resources.
- Working knowledge of community health services that align with providing support to clients/patients to enhance their
- independence.
- Travel is a requirement of this position and transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Vancouver Island Health Authority.
