Handyman for Restaurants

The Restaurant Handyman oversees and coordinates maintenance and repair work for various equipment and facilities within different Lower Mainland restaurants. This includes carpentry, painting, equipment repair, delegating electrical and plumbing repair work, and other general maintenance tasks. The Handyman will work closely with the Operations Manager and subcontractors to ensure restaurants run smoothly and efficiently. You will need excellent in-person communication skills as you will regularly speak directly to clients, suppliers, and colleagues. Computer proficiency is a must, and project management software experience is a significant asset.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee and coordinate maintenance and repair work for various equipment within the restaurant, including kitchen equipment, tables, chairs, and other equipment
- Perform general maintenance tasks such as painting, drywall repair, and carpentry
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly
- Perform routine inspections of equipment and facilities to identify potential issues
- Keep accurate and detailed records of maintenance and repair work
- Communicate effectively with the Operations Manager and subcontractors to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner
- Supervise subcontractors to ensure all work is completed to the required standards.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in maintenance and repair work
- Strong knowledge of carpentry principles
- Ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently
- Must be available to work outside of typical restaurant operating hours
- Experience in overseeing subcontractors

**Salary**: $40.00-$60.00 per hour
