**Please note this is an 18-month contract position starting January 2023.**

**Purpose**:

- Create, manage and nurture long-term relationships with athletes and sports federations under the direction of the Executive Producer, Sports Content (and all their support systems including agents, managers, Canadian Olympic Committee and National Sports Organizations), and coordinate athlete work/appearances across all CBC platforms.

**Your role**:

- You will manage a portion of the business relationship with athletes under the direction of leadership. This position is the consistent, singular contact between the athlete and CBC Sports.
- You are the gatekeeper who is involved with brand building the sports department and CBC with athletes and their community.

**What you’ll do**:
- Communicate on an ongoing basis with high-performance athletes and sports organizations.-
- Contribute ideas for Features content based on your knowledge of the high-performance sports community and NSOs.-
- Support the creation of content and conduct or arrange for any necessary research and outreach activities.-
- Liaise with talent and freelancers regarding content.**As required, perform the following tasks**:
- Work with Producer to assign, direct and coordinate the work of other personnel working on a project for which the Producer is responsible;-
- Perform other production or administrative tasks associated with the smooth function of content vertical, including creating posting and moderating content for social media, reporting on the performance of the content, and liaising with other stakeholders to promote the content online.**What you bring**:
- Two or more years of related experience.-
- Experience working with high performance athletes; understanding their needs as it relates to time and availability required by content producers.-
- Established contacts within the Canadian athlete community (focused on the Olympics).-
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.-
- A passion for and some experience in media coverage of high performance sports in Canada.-
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and respond to many competing demands in a short space of time.-
- A unique perspective and innovative vision.-
- A collaborative approach to new ideas and processes.-
- Logistical and coordinating skills with examples of projects you have worked on that required these skills.-
- An understanding of best practices when it comes to all platforms (digital, broadcast, social) as it relates to content usage and distribution.-
- You are independent and self-motivated, combined with the ability to work well in a team environment.-
- Ability to solve problems independently and in group discussions.-
- Flexibility to adapt to changing work patterns and methods.-
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity.-
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, overtime and weekends as required (for example, during the Olympics or other international sporting events).-
