**Corporate Responsibilities**:

- Contribute to the team’s development of annual department objectives which supports achieving the RAM mission, core values, strategic plan, and objectives including positive teamwork, increased efficiency and profitable sales growth.
- Contribute to the development and completion of personal annual performance objectives, development plans, and training. Participate in regular 1:1 meetings with your team lead, and complete self-assessments for formal mid-year and annual performance reviews.
- Implement and actively participate in RAM’s Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) Management System. Support the development, implementation, and improvement of relevant department tools, including digital solutions and documentation (procedures, work instructions, forms, and templates).
- Support the growth of the RAM brand by contributing to client satisfaction through deliverables and expertise, pursuing networking opportunities to build and improve industry relationships, and other initiatives. Participate in Proposal process for various opportunities, contributing to methodology, experience, and expertise.

**Projects**:

- Develop, implement, and maintain client specific OHS Programs, Plans and Procedures and/or conduct audits of the same;
- Ensure Project Specific Health and Safety Management Plans, including emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, first aid protocols, and coordination with local emergency services are prepared, reviewed, implemented and/or conduct audits of the same;
- Review contractor and/or subcontractor OHS plans and procedures, ensuring all contractors and subcontractors are in compliance with current OHS regulation, legislation, and project safety requirements and/or conduct audits of the same;
- Provide on-site support to projects as required, such as:

- designing and delivering safety training programs for employees at all levels such as site orientations, ongoing training, and organizing specialized training for high-risk tasks
- Facilitation and/ or lead near miss and/or incident investigations, including elaboration and follow up of corrective and preventative actions and reports;
- Ensure contractors and subcontractors are following their approved site-specific Safety Management plan and approved Safe Work Practices;
- Lead and participate in project Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee meetings, as applicable; and
- Attend other project meetings, as required.
- Ensure detailed reports on project safety performance are prepared and submitted for management review;
- In conjunction with others, ensure RAM is in compliance with the duties and obligations of Prime Contractor as defined by WorkSafe BC, where applicable.
- Be responsible for implementing RAM's safety culture and objective of zero incidents across projects; and
- Other project-specific duties as applicable and/or assigned by a Project Assignment Letter.
- Experience within the Engineering/Construction industry in a safety role
- Strong familiarity with provincial and federal health and safety regulations in British Columbia, including knowledge of WorkSafeBC and other relevant regulatory bodies.
- Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and developing strategies to mitigate potential hazards.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and/or conduct thorough incident investigations, including near misses and accidents. This includes root cause analysis and development of corrective actions.
- Experience in conducting regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations. This includes familiarity with creating and maintaining safety inspection checklists.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, first aid protocols, and coordination with local emergency services.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills crucial for creating and disseminating safety policies, procedures, and reports.
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite and an aptitude for digital solutions and software for data tracking, reporting, and analysis.
- The ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including engineers, project managers, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- The capacity to adapt to changing situations and proactively identify and resolve safety-related challenges.
- A commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards in health, safety, and environmental practices.
- Willingness to participate in RFP/Proposal submissions, networking, and other relationship development opportunities.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- One or combination of:

- Degree in OHS from a recognized Post-Secondary Institute with at least 3 years of industry experience
- Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety and at least 5 years of field
