Job Title: Outside Sales
Job purpose: The purpose of this job is to increase sales and profitability by selling products and building/maintaining customer relationships.

- Achieve annual sales goals
- Grow Southern’s customer base in both new and established vertical markets
- Reflect Southern’s Core values to all our new and existing clients
Job
**Responsibilities**:
- The ability to drive and travel, to visit clients in a large geographical area, along with the ability to be away from home for multiple days.
- Visits existing active accounts from customer list in territory and seek out potential new accounts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and deliver personalized attention to each, providing the best in quality service and value
- Build a sales funnel with qualified leads and ensure proper follow up
- Sell Southern’s value in our product lines and project expertise
- Works well with internal teams to coordinate complex projects
- Monitor quote success rates and watch for trends; keeping details on reasons for unsuccessful quotes
- Gather and advise on information via weekly sales meetings
- Attending strategic networking events to share the Southern brand and look for new leads/customers
- Attend year-round training sessions and product knowledge seminars
- Assist with setting annual sales goals
Competencies
- Experience in technical sales
- Technical experience with water based projects (examples: pumps, irrigation, water treatment, septic) an asset
- Self-driven and results oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on sustainable business profitability
- A natural forward planner who critically assess own performance
- Reliable and determined; well-presented and businesslike
- An empathetic communicator, able to see things from the other person’s point of view
