**The Role**

**Location: Veterans Memorial Lodge - 4579 Chatterton Way**

The contractor shall:
1. advise on the maintenance, storage, security, retention, and disposal of records, including residents' health records for all Broadmead Care homes and the Veterans Health Centre (VHC) clients’ files, in accordance with applicable legislation, regulation, or public service requirements;
2. process administrative and medical records for all Broadmead Care homes and VHC client files for off-site storage and destruction;
3. recommend and draft policy and procedures with respect to records management including advising on quality management standards and indicators, and participating, if requested, in the strategic information planning process and the accreditation process (as required);
4. follow retention schedule ARCS for administrative records;
5. participate in a live chart audit under the direction of the Medical Co-ordinator;
6. process discharged resident records;
7. review all forms in use within the facility for compliance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (as required);
8. establish routine, random records checks throughout the facility to ensure the appropriate management of confidential information (as required);
9. carry out or advise on other records management functions as requested.

**What You Bring**

Must be a Certified Health Records Technician or Health Records Administrator, and be currently certified with the Canadian College of Health Information Management.
