**Community Support Worker - Spring 2024**

A mature woman in her late 40’s, is looking for a compassionate, mature, inspiring, and patient **Community** **Support Worker**. This is a self-employed position with a family.

She is looking for someone who is willing to learn about her, provide consistent support, maintain the schedule as required by the family. You will help her discover her true passions and allow her to express herself freely. If you have a creative and artistic flair that would be a bonus

This active woman is looking forward to participating in purposeful community activities daily and building strong friendships. Venturing out into her community, joining engaging activities, and experiencing typical daily life is a large part of this role.

As a **Community Support Worker,** you will assist with full personal care, 1 person transfers, ceiling lift use, wheelchair use, medication administration, meal prep/cooking, light cleaning, and laundry.

The days of support coverage are rotational to follow caregivers work schedule. A schedule can be designed for 4 weeks in advance with agreement from both parties.

10-hour to 12-hour shifts are required to work, a weekly rotational schedule will be followed. Day shift is 7am-7pm approximately. There are shorter daytime hours available through the week also specifically for appointments and community events.

You will accompany the woman on public transportation to attend events, meetings and various appointments.

This is a **Self-employed position** with the family. Timesheets are filled out and paid out bi-weekly (every 2 weeks).

**Compensation**: $24 per hr, mileage expenses covered during hours of service.

**Required**:
5 years+ of DSW/Social Work experience

Transfer and lift experience

Cooking and following meal plan

Vulnerable Sector Criminal Check

Valid Driver’s license & own car

Non-smoker

**Pets are present in the home.**

Please include your availability for weekly hours. This is a **self-employed Community Support Worker position** directly with a family. This is **NOT** an agency position.

**Salary**: From $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 - 40 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Class G Licence (preferred)
