About Kinnect Support Services:


Kinnect Support Services is a social services partner that provides trained staff support to various organizations in need of relief staff.

Our team offers support to agencies that work with individuals who experience behavioral, social, emotional, physical, and psychiatric difficulties.

The Role:


We are currently hiring a Social Service Worker, Developmental Support Worker, Child and Youth Worker, or related discipline to support in a foster care/group home setting.

You will be supporting and implementing behavioral plans for children, youth and adults who are diagnosed with complex special needs and who often have a dual diagnosis.


Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the implementation of behavior support plans including handson care and daily living activities. Provide direct and indirect support to individuals as required by personal support plans.
  • Promote community inclusion, independence and selfdeterminism for the individuals supported. Support clients to identify, work towards and achieve their goals/personal outcomes.
  • Encourage selfexpression of individuals supported and remain knowledgeable of verbal and nonverbal communications, including alternative communication systems and techniques.
  • Utilize problemsolving skills to work collaboratively within a team
  • Provide careful and accurate observation of clients, completing all required documentation and reports.
  • Encourage and assist clients to participate in social, educational, community and recreational activities to enhance their experience and quality of life.
  • Take an active role to ensure the home remains clean, tidy, and safe for the clients
  • Support clients in personal and developmental, personal hygiene and overall care of client's progress and routines.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in
    Developmental Services Worker, Social Services worker, or related program in
    Child Youth Care, Psychology and Behavior Therapist.
  • Must have ASD experience working with clients utilizing crisis prevention and therapeutic approaches
  • Uptodate immunization records, double vaccination for COVID19, and need to have or willing to get a TB Test
  • Valid 3day UMAB crisis training and Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C required
  • Need to have or willing to get a Vulnerable Sector Police Check

  • Is capable of working in a team environment.
  • Demonstrates effective problemsolving skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to organize workload and to respond efficiently and effectively to unexpected workload and situations.

License/Certification:

  • Post Secondary Diploma/Degree in the Social Services Field? (required)
  • Up to date immunizations, TB Test, and Covid Vaccination? (required)
  • Employment Vulnerable Sector Check within the last 12 months? (required)
  • 3day UMAB Crisis Training? (preferred)
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C? (required)
