ABOUT THE ROLE

SJC Media is looking for a full-time commerce writer/editor to help expand its shoppable content and recommendations. We’re searching for an experienced commerce and shopping writer able to help readers make smart, informed shopping decisions through engaging, fun content.

This person will write and produce best-of commerce articles, shopping listicles, sales information, as well as review new products and update readers on all the best must-haves. Professional experience in writing, editing and reporting is necessary.

Familiarity with a CMS is important, as well as minor formatting and image editing skills.

Responsibilities include:

- Pitch, write, edit and produce shopping content for SJC titles including Today’s Parent
- Translate relevant scientific research and expert guidance into clear, concise and engaging lifestyle content
- Help create content and content planning on a wide variety of topics
- Oversee and finalize updates to evergreen content on a timely basis
- Participate in regular editorial meetings
- Optimize new and existing posts based on affiliate partnerships
- Build commerce posts in the CMS

**Qualifications**:

- At least two years of editorial editing experience, including commerce experience
- Work experience for a major publisher or news brand is a plus

Desired Skills
- Strong grasp of AP Style: spelling, grammar and punctuation
- Use of expert sources and experts to inform fact-based advice and shopping direction
- Attention to detail and ability to make quick decisions
- Ability to manage many different tasks at once
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across multiple teams
- Basic SEO knowledge
- Basic understanding of affiliate marketing platforms including Skimlinks and Amazon (or at least a familiarity with)
