**The Gig: Marine Technician/Apprentice - Dive into the World of Boats** Ever dreamt of turning your passion for boats into a full-time gig? Well, dream no more As a Marine Technician/Apprentice at River City Marine in Abbotsford, BC, you get to dive into some of the coolest brands and manufacturers in both boats and engines. Here’s what a day in the life might look like:
- Learn and assist in services and repairs on outboard and inboard motors.
- Assist in adjusting, repairing, or replacing mechanical or electrical system parts.
- Be a part of testing and adjusting repaired equipment for top-notch performance.
- Contribute to scheduled maintenance and service - because prevention is key
- Assist in inspecting and testing engines to diagnose and isolate faults.
- Collaborate with your awesome team to review work orders and chat about the day's tasks.
- Get hands-on experience installing electronics and accessories on new boats - adding the final touch of awesomeness
**Let’s Talk About You**:
- Ideally, you've got 1-3 years of hands-on experience with marine engines or related areas.
- You're not just here for the job; you're excited about the opportunity to learn and grow. Your enthusiasm is your greatest asset - we’re in it for the long run if you are
- Currently enrolled in or on the verge of completing a Marine Mechanical Technician certificate program or a related program? That's awesome and a definite plus
- Whether you're already armed with basic knowledge or have a burning desire to dive into marine engine and electrical auxiliary systems, we're ready to fuel your curiosity.
- A passion for boat steering systems? Excellent Your keen interest in every aspect of marine technology is what sets you apart.
- Hold a valid driver’s license? Great We're ready to hit the road (or water) with you.
- If you have forklift certification, fantastic If not, no worries - we'll guide you through the process.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail - because in our world, it's the little things that make the big waves.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in various physical conditions - flexibility is the name of the game

**Salary**: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
