Overview**:
As a marine pre-delivery inspection (PDI) Technician you will be performing pre-delivery inspection of marine and watercraft systems including gasoline and diesel engines, fuel management systems, engine electrical systems, marine electrical, electronic and navigation systems, steering and hydraulic systems, drives and propulsion systems.

You will be responsible for maintaining a clean work environment, participating in training, assisting co-workers, completing jobs with efficiency and other tasks as required.

Reports to: Service Manager

Compensation: $20 +/hr depending on experience

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities**:

- Learn how to troubleshoot/diagnose electrical and drivability issues.
- PDI units from the factory.
- PDI sold units.
- Install accessories.
- Perform scheduled service and maintenance.
- Trailer boats.
- Keep tools, work area and equipment fully serviceable.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Communicate on a regular basis with the Service Manager.
- Work efficiently to ensure overall customer satisfaction through the timely completion of PDI work.
- Use all equipment safely.
- Test all work prior to delivery to the customer.
- Rigging new/used engines on boats.
- Prepping used/brokerage boats.
- Performing mechanicals.
- Maintain strict adherence to dealership policies on marine care and operation.
- Complete story and/or documentation for client repairs.
- Attend company and factory training and keep current with factory technical bulletins.
- Understand and follow federal, provincial, and local regulations (such as disposal of hazardous waste)

- Attention to detail, neat and orderly, general good health, and physical ability.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or GED (general equivalency diploma); or 6 months to 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous technician experience preferred and considered an asset (2-3 years preferred).
- Valid driver's license and Technician Certification are desirable.
