**Salary**: $39,304.00/year - $43,671.00/year

What qualifications are we looking for?
- Post-secondary education in Social Sciences, Human Services, Education, Social Work or Humanities;
- Experience and/or desire to work with newcomer youth;
- Experience in leading and running groups, particularly around topics such as leadership, philanthropy and job-searching skills;
- Initiative and a strong work ethic;
- Strong team-work skills as well as the ability to work independently and with low supervision;
- Critical-thinking skills;
- Administrative experience and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel;
- Reliable transportation (mileage is reimbursed);
- Current Intermediate (Standard) First Aid and CPR C certification (CPR recertified within the last 12 months);
- Evidence of a clear Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search;
- Three professional references.

What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?

The YMAP Coordinator will be required to travel to visit the YMCA facilities and locations where they are responsible for Youth Engagement programs. There will also be occasional travel to other locations in the city for YMCA meetings, trainings, and community engagement work. Working hours will include occasional weekends and evenings. The YMAP Coordinator may be required to deliver programs in-person or online.

Duties and Responsibilities includes:

- Work full-time, year-round, in a dynamic program (YMAP) offering support and positive experiences for high school students;
- Independently deliver after-school sessions in-person five days each week from September to June for youth with a wide variety of English levels, with some weekends as needed;
- Run or support summer programming for youth during July and August;
- Adapt curriculum into daily lesson plans to meet student needs;
- Deliver topics including: self-esteem, healthy relationships, philanthropy, using Calgary transit, resume writing, global initiatives, and cultural awareness;
- Work within a team of YMAP Coordinators;
- Help organize special events for youth;
- Recruit participants through in-school presentations and one-on-one interviews;
- Prepare and submit monthly reports, attendance, and program impact stories;
- Support program evaluation;
- Provide drop-in and referrals for participants when needed;
- Build and maintain relationships with schools and community organizations;
- Be an ambassador for YMCA programs in the community;
- Ensure a clean and safe work environment;
- Be based out of the Remington YMCA.
