YMAP Coordinator - South Central (Part Time)
YMCA Calgary - South Central Locations
Start Date: Immediately

**Salary**: $19.46/hour - 21.63/hour

What qualifications are we looking for?
- Post-secondary education in Social Sciences, Human Services, Education, Social Work or Humanities
- Experience and/or desire to work with newcomer youth
- Experience in leading and facilitating groups, particularly around topics such as leadership, philanthropy and job-searching skills
- Initiative and a strong work ethic
- Strong team-work skills as well as the ability to work independently and with low supervision
- Critical-thinking skills
- Administrative experience and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Reliable transportation (mileage is reimbursed)
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification
- Evidence of a clear Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search
- Three professional references

What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?

Duties and responsibilities include:

- Work part-time, year-round, in a dynamic program (YMAP) offering support and positive experiences for high school students.
- Independently deliver after-school sessions in-person five days each week from September to June for youth with a wide variety of English levels, with some weekends as needed
- Run or support summer programming for youth during July and August
- Adapt curriculum into daily lesson plans to meet student needs
- Deliver topics including: self-esteem, healthy relationships, philanthropy, using Calgary transit, resume writing, global initiatives, and cultural awareness
- Work within a team of YMAP Coordinators
- Help organize special events for youth
- Recruit participants through in-school presentations
- Prepare and submit monthly reports, attendance, statistics, and program impact stories
- Support program evaluation
- Provide drop-in and referrals for participants when needed
- Build and maintain relationships with schools and community organizations
- Be an ambassador for YMCA programs in the community
- Ensure a clean and safe work environment
- Be based out of multiple locations: Memorial Park Library, Calgary Housing, and Career & Technology Centre
