**HUMAN RESOURCES & OPERATIONS ADMINISTRATOR (Surrey, BC)**

Reporting to the Controller and working closely with Sr. Managers, Depot Managers, and Employees, the “Administrator” is responsible for supporting Human Resources and Operations processes and requirements.

Technically and administratively savvy, attention to detail, lots of initiative, highly organized, self
- motivated and critical thinking are key qualifications for this role. Building and sustaining excellent internal and external relationships goes without question.

**Core Responsibilities **(include but are not limited to):

- Support the recruitment process by preparing and posting jobs, screening resumes, coordinating interviews and evaluations.
- Oversee and assist with employee orientation, onboarding/offboarding.
- Ensure Employee Handbook, policies and procedures are up-to-date and complied with.
- Respond to manager and employee queries.
- Work with Payroll & Benefits Administrator to provide benefits information to employees and ensure timely benefits registration and updates.
- Assist Payroll & Benefits Administrator with timely reporting from Depots for payroll cut-off.
- Provide guidance to managers regarding employee performance management issues/challenges.
- Track, monitor and ensure probationary and annual reviews and raise requests are completed by managers in a timely manner; and raise requests/wages are equitable across the organization.
- Develop and maintain a wage/salary grid for depot positions.
- Ensure all employee files are complete and up-to-date.
- Track and schedule staff training and development programs.
- Work with managers to review and approve employee vacation and sick day requests.
- Keep up-to-date on Employment Standards and applicable acts, laws and regulations.
- Monitor and support depots regarding monthly Employee Roster updates and meeting Statutory Training and Health & Safety obligations.
- Schedule and attend bi-weekly Operations Managers meetings and take and distribute minutes.
- Engage and work with HR Consultant on higher level and/or complex matters.
- Actively participate as a collaborative member of the Regional Recycling team and foster a collaborative working environment.
- Other tasks as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 2 years’ related experience including HR and Operations Administrative tasks.
- Post-secondary courses in Human Resources.
- Understanding of SOP’s, policies and procedures is highly preferred.
- Strong business sense including critical and strategic thinking, creative problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution skills.
- Strong administrative and organization skills, demonstrated initiative, keen eye for detail, ability to multi-task, be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and situations, and course correct to achieve results. A “can do” attitude is key.
- Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and comfortable learning other programs.
- Proficient with composing business and confidential correspondence.
- Solid administrative, record keeping and file management skills.
- Understanding of compensation practices is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal, and English verbal and written communication skills.
- Self motivated with demonstrated ability to work independently and as collaborative team player.
- Flexibility regarding hours/days as required.
- A vehicle, valid driver license and a clear driving record are preferred.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $53,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
