Job Summary As a Systems Administrator, the role encompasses the design, implementation, and maintenance of our network infrastructure to support our day-to-day operations working closely with our IT team to troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and implement security measures to safeguard sensitive data. This position offers the opportunity to play a vital role in enhancing technological capabilities while ensuring reliable communication and connectivity for our team.

As **Systems Administrator**, duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

- Supporting, configuring, and maintaining corporate networks and in-house servers.
- Ensuring optimal network performance and security.
- Ensuring seamless connectivity and efficient operation of our network systems.

Duties

**Technical Support and Troubleshooting**
- Diagnose and investigate reported problems, utilizing available resources and knowledge bases to identify root causes and propose appropriate solutions.
- Escalate complex or unresolved problems to senior support staff or appropriate IT teams, providing comprehensive documentation of the issue and troubleshooting steps taken.

**Installation, Configuration, and Maintenance**
- Fully support, configure, maintain, and upgrade corporate customers' networks and in-house servers.

**Network and Security Management**
- Ensure network security and connectivity.
- Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) and test for weaknesses.
- Define network policies and procedures.
- Set up user accounts, permissions, and passwords.
- Specify system requirements and design solutions.

**Documentation and Knowledge Management**
- Document all support interactions, including issues, solutions, and customer information, accurately and comprehensively in the help desk ticketing system.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the help desk knowledge base by creating and updating articles and documentation to facilitate self-help and improve efficiency.
- Analyze help desk ticket data to identify recurring issues, patterns, and potential improvements to enhance the overall support process.

**User Training and Support**
- Provide ongoing support and resolve problems reported by end-users.

**IT Inventory Management**
- Assist in maintaining an inventory of IT equipment, software licenses, and peripherals, ensuring accurate tracking and timely replenishment as needed.

**Research and Recommendations**
- Research and make recommendations on server system administration and new technologies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of IT infrastructure.

**Requirements**:
**Educational Background and Certifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Juniper, CWNA, or BCNE) are advantageous.

**Experience and Technical Skills**
- Proven experience in a help desk or technical support role, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Proven experience in a network administrator role.
- Proficient in Windows and macOS operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, hardware troubleshooting, network connectivity, and remote desktop tools.
- Hands-on experience in networking, routing, and switching.
- Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure.
- Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
- Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies.
- Familiarity with ITIL principles is a plus.

Working Conditions
