**Position Overview**
The **Associate Manager, Facility Maintenance** will provide crucial support to the Manager, Facility Maintenance in overseeing and ensuring the efficient operation of building maintenance activities at the Centre. This role is responsible for coordinating and assisting in maintenance tasks, responding to internal service requests, managing daily operations, and ensuring compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and internal policies. The Associate Manager will also serve as a backup to the Manager and play a key role in supporting the department’s operational and strategic initiatives.

**Primary Functions and Responsibilities**
- Support the Manager, Facility Maintenance in overseeing the daily operations of the Maintenance team, ensuring all maintenance activities are carried out efficiently, on schedule, and in compliance with relevant safety and quality standards.
- Coordinate and assist in managing the work order system by reviewing, scheduling, and prioritizing work orders.
- Assist in planning and executing building maintenance, renovation, and repair projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality expectations.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and accessibility requirements. Act as the point of contact for compliance-related inquiries.
- Support the Manager in managing procurement and vendor relationships, ensuring projects meet the Centre’s standards and budget.
- Help develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to ensure the long-term reliability of building infrastructure and equipment.
- Assist in tracking and managing the department's budget, supporting cost monitoring, purchase order approvals, and vendor negotiations to meet financial goals.
- Participate in the coordination of training programs for maintenance staff, ensuring alignment of skills and certifications.
- Contribute to the Centre’s Emergency Management program, including after-hours on-call support as needed.
- Promote and support the guest experience program within the department and across the Centre.
- Foster a culture of safety and compliance with relevant health and safety legislation.
- Serve as a direct backup to the Manager, Facility Maintenance during absences, ensuring seamless operations.
- Participate in various meetings and committees to support operational and strategic initiatives

**Qualifications and Requirements**
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in facility maintenance or a related field, with a focus on supervisory or managerial duties.
- Familiarity with building maintenance operations (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, general facility infrastructure).
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) to collaborate with staff, contractors, and management.
- Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as construction plans and maintenance manuals.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Experience with work order management software.
- Experience in budgeting and cost management related to facility operations.

**Education Requirements**
- Valid Journeyman Electrician’s License.
- 5th class Power Engineer certificate or equivalent.
