STR8 UP is looking for the right individual to fill the challenging but rewarding full-time Housing Program Manager, Transitional Housing position in Saskatoon, SK

**About STR8 UP**

STR8 UP is all about assisting and supporting addictive gang members in their transformation from dysfunctional and fatal relationships, to healthy and fulfilling relationships with self, others, Mother Earth and Higher Power, based on spiritual values of Honesty and Humility. Outreach is key to supporting individual ex-gang members and addressing the gang problem in our community.

STR8 UP support adults and youth in correctional facilities and the community as they move through the justice system and transition out of the gang lifestyle to become responsible community members. They face socio-economic and health challenges: poverty, family breakdown, limited education and employment, insecure housing, mental health and emotional challenges including anger, frustration, low self-esteem and addictions. STR8 UP advocates, mediates, counsels, mentors and negotiates resources on their behalf. We walk alongside our clients as they chart their course forward.

**Purpose and Scope**

The PM will be responsible for Program Operations of Housing. He/she will report to STR8 UPs Executive Director. He/she will supervise full/part time Housing Support Workers.

The PM will provide supports to adults over the age of 18 years who are justice involved or STR8 UP connected residing in our Transitional Housing. This program is to provide a temporary sober housing solution for people who are being released into the community and or otherwise able to live independently but need assistance while securing permanent housing.

**Responsibilities Includes**:

- Being familiar with and managing Program requirements and ensuring alignment with STR8 UP philosophy and culture
- Supervising and directing the Program, in conjunction with the STR8 UP Leadership team while reporting to and following the direction of the Executive Director
- Working with service agencies, criminal justice stakeholders and community;
- With the member, conduct intake, ongoing case planning and self-assessments
- Be responsible for and monitoring compliance with contracted goals and requirements, including: participant referrals, risk-management implementation, staff training and client programming, record keeping, reporting, and privacy
- Participate in outreach work on a limited basis, with a view to improving the experience for participant and outreach worker, alike
- Meet with staff to help develop new initiatives and strengthen organizational strategies
- Keep meticulous intake, case planning and attendance and referral records
- Advocate in justice, corrections, social services sectors and for community supports
- Provide one-to-one life skills and problem solving counselling
- Accompany and support members attending important appointments
- Assist in obtaining essentials to community living: Identification, financial assistance.
- Arrange access to spiritual and cultural practices to support healing
- Facilitate recreational and cultural opportunities that include family
- Arrange for addictions programming, housing, health, education/job skills and employment opportunities.
- Provide information about services and opportunities in the community
- Identify partnerships for services in the community

**Qualifications and Qualities**:
To qualify, you will have a degree in human services in any of the following fields: Social Work, Indigenous Social Work, Human Justice, Education, Arts: Justice Studies, Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, and Indigenous Studies, and relevant experience. Demonstrated experience in program management
- Demonstrate and practice a healthy lifestyle
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with adults, youth, staff and partnering agencies and maintain strict confidentiality and appropriate boundaries
- Ability to express ideas and concepts effectively in an oral and written form
- Working knowledge of computers/windows
- Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and issues
- Must have a valid driver’s license that reflects a safe driving record
- Criminal Records Check
- Management Experience is essential
- A strong understanding of excel spreadsheets,database use, budgeting and program planning

**Salary**: $27.00-$30.00 per hour
