**About the Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Supervisor, Central Registry and Admitting, the Bed Utilization Clerk is responsible to facilitate optimum use of the inpatient beds throughout Cumberland Regional Health Care Center. The nature and complexity of bed demands in CRHCC requires decisions that reflect the unique daily circumstances and pressures from all sources. The Bed Utilization Clerk must have the ability to use sound judgment to ensure optimal solutions in ensuring high quality patient care. This position is also responsible for receiving patients in an efficient and courteous manner, always considering the well-being of the patient, families, visitors and staff in accordance with the philosophy of Nova Scotia Health. They communicate daily with Access and Flow.

**About You**:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

- One-year post-secondary education in business administration or equivalent required. Medical secretarial diploma preferred, or one-year previous clerical/administration experience is required
- Graduate from an approved Medical Terminology course required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is preferred
- Experience in NShIS Meditech (ADM, MRI) admission registration and data correction
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in excellent customer service required
- Ability to work in a self-directed setting
- Ability to work as an effective team player
- Strong communication skills to provide accurate and timely information orally and in writing
- Strong desire and ability to focus on client needs and satisfaction
- Flexibility to adapt easily to changes
- Able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Accept and use constructive criticism for personal and professional growth
- Supports and delivers quality patient safety standards within Nova Scotia Health
- Responsible for contributing to the achievement of Nova Scotia Health's accreditation standards
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

**Compensation and Incentives**:
$21.73 - $24.31 Hourly
