Working in the Community Investment Section, the Advisory Board Facilitator will play a critical role in supporting the City of Edmonton's Council Advisory Boards, including the City of Edmonton Youth Council, Women's Advisory Voice of Edmonton, Accessibility Advisory Committee, and the Community Services Advisory Board. This position is instrumental in ensuring the smooth functioning, legislative compliance, and sound governance of these committees.

As a specialized Administrative position the Council Advisory Board Facilitator is essential to support the advisory council committees and ensure requirements and responsibilities are met.

Having a thorough understanding of Advisory Board structures, their distinct mandates, and the associated governance and legislative requirements will pave the way for success in this role

**What you will do?**
- Meeting coordination and managements
- Ensure Committee meetings run smoothly, which includes booking meeting rooms, and ensuring they are properly equipped with meeting technology
- Assisting with website updates and ensuring social media compliance
- Assisting with timely submission of reports and required documentation to clerks office
- Develop and maintain business process/practices documentation
- Provide information and advice to the committee on legislative and governance practices and issues
- Address a wide range of complex and sensitive community concerns, including gender and youth issues, 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion, accessibility needs, racism, poverty, and other diverse perspectives
- Maintain regular communication with Advisory Board Chairs
- Financial monitoring and reporting
- Maintain work and training plans for committees
- Ensure timely submission of information for reporting purposes and honorariums
- Maintain records management systems for successful work plans and knowledge succession

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 5 years related progressively responsible and diversified office experience

**Asset**:

- Training in parliamentary procedure
- Assessment Review Board Clerk Designation( Alberta Municipal Affairs Certificate)
- Experience with non-profit sector, community leaders/volunteers and other levels of government
- Experience with the Municipal Government Act and Freedom of Information and Privacy Act (FOIP)
- Experience working with diversity and inclusion, diverse communities, including LGBTQS+, ethnocultural and Indigenous communities

- Experience working in community and with political leadership; understanding the political landscape and political systems
- Proficient in Google workspace such as Google docs, sheets, and slides
- Embracing a culture of equity, diversity, reconciliation and inclusion

**Conditions of Employment**:

- Ability to attend meetings at various locations in Edmonton

**Work Environment**:

- Weekend and evening work may be required.

**_ Up to 2 permanent full-time positions and up to 1 temporary part-time for up to 20 hours per week for up to 18 months in accordance with Article 18.02 of the Collective Agreement._**

Part - time: Up to 20 hours per week
