**FAMILY CAREGIVER WELLNESS WORKSHOP FACILITATOR**

**(ALBERTA RURAL AND INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES)**

**FACULTY OF HEALTH STUDIES**

The NorQuest College, Faculty of Health Studies’ Family Caregiver Wellness Initiative (FCWI) Project Team is recruiting for health care professionals to deliver workshops in a facilitator role to family caregivers in Alberta’s **Rural & Indigenous communities**.

The FCWI supports family caregivers of loved ones living at home through providing education. FCWI was launched to provide:

- Enhance family caregiver knowledge and confidence to respond to the needs of the persons safely and efficiently in their care.
- To improve the quality of life for family caregivers and people who receive their care.
- To provide supports for family caregiver to build their confidence and knowledge to provide care.

**HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE**
- Help family caregivers to become better caregivers through education.
- Facilitate specialized workshops (Online workshops are dependent on participants’ access to the Internet and their meeting hardware requirements).
- Develop best practices and contribute to the improvement of training processes.
- Support administrative activities such as registration and attendance tracking, reporting, and scheduling.

**WHAT YOU BRING**
- 2+ years of active experience as a Health Care Aide, Licensed Practical Nurse, Social worker, or Registered Nurse. Retired professionals with the requisite experience are welcomed. Indigenous applicants must demonstrate experience working with and in Indigenous communities
-either being Indigenous themselves or have extensive experience and respect from these communities.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Good understanding of using Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint software and other presentation tools is required. Experience with learning management system platforms (Blackboard, Moodle etc.) is an asset.
- Comfort and experience working both independently and in collaboration with a team and community members.
- Great capacity to adapt in a changing environment.
- A network of family caregivers or the willingness to build your network of family caregivers.

Facilitator - Family Caregiver Wellness Workshops

$50/non-attendance workshop

$150/attended workshop with minimum 3 attendees.

This would equate to approximately $2,650 per year (including mileage as per Norquest Policy) for the FCWI Rural Facilitator position(s).

Please Note: Attendance limits for in-person workshop should be guided by public health restrictions but should never exceed 15 people.

This is not a full-time position, nor does it come with any benefits.
