**Employment Type**: Permanent Part-Time (28 hours per week)

**Reports to**: Program Manager

**About the Position**:
The Language Services Coordinator (LSC) is responsible for the supervision and support of Language Instructors within the BC Services and Assistance for Humanitarian and Vulnerable Newcomers (BC SAF-HAVN) program. This position is accountable for daily operational support of language services, service planning, and facilitation of promotional and networking activities. The LSC will also support senior managers in providing planning and administrative support necessary to comply with funder expectations and requirements, including assistance with report writing and data collection.

**Key Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Supports and train BC SAF HAVN language service team members to update their knowledge of language service activities for eligible clients, including refugee claimants, refugees, and other humanitarian migrants
- Supports curriculum delivery and activities with Language Instructors
- Supports regularly scheduled unit summaries from instructors to ensure Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level appropriateness
- Organizes program activities in meeting program outputs and optimize program outcomes
- Provides program orientation to new team members
- Provides Portfolio-Based Language Assessment (PBLA) orientation to new students
- Organizes adequate staffing at service delivery location(s)
- Liaises with community partners, agencies, and organizations for service collaborations such as space sharing, guest speakers, client referrals
- Plans program promotion strategies to meet client and service targets
- Ensures the program information on the agency website, promotion materials are up-to-date
- Facilitates collaboration and development amongst the team and ensures the quality of services delivered to clients
- Communicates service trends, client needs and priorities to the Program Manager in a timely manner
- Leads the program’s Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) procedures
- Submits accurate service records, statistics and program reports to Program Manager within the scheduled timeline
- Participates in internal and external meetings, and agency events and trainings as approved by the Program Manager
- Performs other program related duties as assigned by the Program Manager

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field
- TESL Canada 2 certificate or equivalent certification
- Minimum of 3 years’ adult teaching experience
- Experience with multicultural clientele and immigrant related services
- Knowledge of CLB-based language programs
- Experience in facilitating in-person and online workshops and special events
- Supervisory experience is an asset

**Other Requirements**:

- Ability to work weekends and evenings as required
- Ability to travel within Greater Vancouver
- Criminal record check and vulnerable sector check required
- Ability to work virtually or remotely as required
