- Ability to communicate in English and French fluently to develop internal communications in both languages to our employees.

**Preferred qualifications**:

- Experience working in large brand consumer or technology communications.
- Experience managing a third-party external agency.
- Understanding of Google’s tech and business priorities and strategy, and how we could make a bigger impact - not just within one product or business area.
- Ability to think, plan and execute on multiple projects simultaneously in an organized fashion, and work efficiently with a global team of colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively and maintain good judgment in fast-paced, dynamic environments, and escalate appropriately.
- Ability to work with colleagues in different countries and understand cultural differences.

**About the job**:
As a member of the Global Communications & Public Affairs team, you will work cross-functionally to help communicate with journalists and other thought leaders; devise specific communications materials and campaigns; engage in face-to-face meetings with commentators and other opinion formers; and develop print and web-based material supporting these campaigns. We're looking for great communicators who can understand complex issues and explain them in person and also via well written, simple blog posts, FAQs, video scripts and more.

The Canada Communications team is responsible for all aspects of Google's communications in Canada. It's our job to help inform and educate Canadian users, advertisers, partners, opinion leaders, and our own employees about the benefits of Google's products, our distinctive company culture/values, and our approach to the big tech issues of the day.

We celebrate, protect, and shape how Canadians and Googlers think about Google through effective, honest, and creative communications and strategic counsel.

It's our job to help inform and educate users, advertisers, partners, opinion leaders-and our own employees-about the benefits of Google's products, our distinctive company culture/values, and our approach to the big public policy issues of the day. To succeed here, you'll combine creativity with organizational skills to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines simultaneously, as well as enjoy pitching to journalists, bloggers and commentators, or producing internal communications and events for our employees. Things happen quickly at Google and to get stuff done here you need to be an enthusiastic team player who can work cross-functionally and isn't hesitant to take risks or try new things.

**Responsibilities**:

- Work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, policy, engineering, research, and product teams to communicate the wider Google Canada narrative to media in Quebec and support policy and business goals.
- Develop written materials including story pitches, messaging guidelines, blog posts, Q&As, presentations, and speeches.
- Work closely with our B2B and B2C Canada communications leads to showcase how Google helps Quebecois businesses and communities through our various platforms.
- Unearth unique Québec storytelling opportunities to spotlight local talent and Google’s presence in Québec. Be responsible for engagement with Québec journalists and commentators and act as a spokesperson for various company announcements and issues.
- Provide the Canada communications team with support for reaching the Québec audience when developing national content. Work with leaders in Québec and across Canada to develop effective internal communications in English and French to our employees.
