JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging (Clerical Support) the Clerk 2 (regional central intake)

functions to facilitate the scheduling of CT (&MRI) in the region. This role enables the scheduling of diagnostic

procedures at regional sites, taking into account provider preference, patient preference and wait times. This

centralized role with a goal of balancing diagnostic workload in the region will be instrumental in providing a safe,

informed, and well‑planned experience for patients.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Must provide patient care or services in a manner that reflects the philosophy of patient and family centred care.

*Must treat all information concerning patient affairs or illnesses and/or hospital business as confidential, privileged

information, which must never be discussed except in the course of duty.

*Must abide by the Code of Conduct, work to foster an inclusive environment that honours each individual's

uniqueness, and provides a culturally safe experience through respect and compassion for all staff, professional

staff, patients, and community partners.

*Support five regional sites (Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health

Centre, Dryden Regional Health Centre, Kenora Lake of the Woods District Hospital, Fort Frances Riverside Health

Care)

*Review all requisitions coming through central intake for completeness

*Return requisitions to referring provider if not complete

*Review all requisitions for provider preference, patient preference, wait time preference

*Create e‑request for CT/MRI referrals

*Route requisitions to the regional site that best meets the preference indicated

*Maintain a current list of procedures available at each regional site

*Engage with patients (or Essential Care Providers) as required to confirm the best site for CT/MRI appointments

*Engage with providers as required to confirm the best site for CT/MRI appointments to facilitate best possible

outcomes for patients

*Collaborate with booking staff at regional sites as needed to determine the best scheduling opportunity for the

patient

*Provide information to providers and/or patients as required or forward questions/concerns to appropriate booking

clerk at regional site

*Provide information to Non‑Insured Benefits as required to support patients' in the scheduling process or forward

questions/concerns to booking clerks at regional sites

*Establish and maintain a process that ensures referrals sent through central intake (CT/MRI) are not lost, missed, or

mis‑filed

Salary Range: $25.528 to 26.178
