Warehouse Associate

**Job description**
The Warehouse position involves a lot of lifting and carrying. Efficiency and organization are key to verifying and putting away new shipments and to keeping the warehouse neat and tidy. Applicants must be available to work various shifts between the hours of 8am to 8pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 6pm on Sundays.
**Major Tasks and Responsibilities**
- Store new products according to established procedures and policies
- Walk warehouse daily to identify products in the wrong location
- Ensure discontinued/ distressed products brought to the department managers to be dealt with on a daily basis
- Maintain warehouse order and neatness
- Identify inventory differences
- Fill merchandise onto floor and into storage according to established procedures and policies
- Responsible for working scheduled shifts
- Ability to maintain high level of productivity with mínimal supervision
- Handle dangerous goods and hazardous products according to established procedures
- Maintain professional appearance (uniform, hygiene, grooming)
- Follow company, store, and department policies
- Follow store health & safety program and observe provincial occupational health & safety regulations; report any observed or potential hazards immediately
- Complete other tasks, as required
**Major Requirements and Competencies**
- Knowledge of warehouse and store layout
- Ability to provide professional customer service and employee support
- Ability to work in a team environment to achieve common goals
- Ability to maintain composure and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to complete tasks according to instructions and demonstrate responsibility for outcomes
- Punctuality and reliable
- Effective written and oral communication skills and basic math skills
**Physical Demands (refers to an 8-hour shift with standard breaks)**
- Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours or more
- Able to lift 25 kilos or 50 lbs unassisted and carry as required
- Ability to lift and turn repeatedly throughout the shift
- Ability to lift above shoulder and from floor to shoulder and floor to waist
- Ability to go up and down a ladder while carrying merchandise
- Ability to walk and carry at same time & push/pull as required
- Able to twist, turn, reach, and work above shoulder level
