Assistant Bulk Barite/Field Inventory ManagerPosition: Assistant Bulk Barite/Field Inventory Manager

Canadian Energy Services, the drilling fluids services division of CES Energy Solutions, is looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, and organized individual to fill the position of Assistant Bulk Barite/Field Inventory Manager. This full time, diverse position is located in Edson, Alberta and has many diverse duties to challenge the right candidate. This role reports directly to the Tank Farm & Bulk Barite Manager.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Oversee and operate all Bulk Barite activity and associated tracking and reporting for CES Mud division.
- Report to CES Equipment, Tank Farm, and Equal branch management.
- Ensure that all proper training is provided to CES Mud Field Technicians for CES Mud in conjunction with CES Equipment Manager.
- Supervise and oversee all liquid inventory (OBM/Brine) storage, production levels, transaction, and logistic operations for CES Mud.
- Oversee and supervise all reporting on fluid activity to CES Tank Farm Manager.
- Data entry of all OBM transactions, Tank Farm manager and AssetTrax software supervision of all CES Mud Bulk Barite equipment and liquid inventory warehouses for products.
- Work with Equal Transportation Dispatch, (Equal and CES) accounting, and CES Procurement on all operational requirements for the CES Tank Farm and third-party facilities.
- Ensure proper safety equipment is provided and worn to comply with safe work policies.
- Other duties as required.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Bulk Barite and HGS equipment service through maintenance and repairs.
- Bulk Barite and HGS Bead equipment tracking and cost quotes on repairs or new equipment.
- Bulk Barite and HGS Bead pumps field service mobilization and de-mobilization in western Canada, including personnel training for service staff and customer to ensure proper use.
- Supervise and conduct Bulk Barite and HGS Bead field service on customer sites and deliver quality equipment support.
- Conduct Bulk Barite and HGS Bead Field reporting, invoicing, and tracking in CES AssetTrax software.
- Provide Bulk Barite and HGS Bead equipment quotes in conjunction with Equal Dispatch.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained, repaired and active.
- Data entry of all Equal Invert Plant and Tank Farm transactions, as well as possible data requirements for outside CES Mud OBM and Brine facilities.
- Data entry of all Equal Invert Plant OBM production products.
- Assistance with all third-party Tank Farm management software operations.
- Catalog all OBM product reports in the server for all CES Mud storage facilities in western Canada.
- Perform month end counts and reports, and work with Calgary accounting for all facilities for month end.
- Review all approved documentation at the Equal Invert Plant facility on procedures for production and testing.
- Review all fluid analytic reports tested at the Equal Invert Plant, which will be overseen by the Liquid Inventory Field Supervisor that all persons are testing fluids as directed.
- Assist Equal Invert Plant Supervisor with all quality assurances, reporting, and fluid handling as directed.
- Review and ensure that all AER Compliance under Directive 50 and 58 are upheld by Equal Invert Plant personnel.
Required skillset:
- Must be familiar with computers and programs such as Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
- Must be mechanically inclined.
- Ability to run equipment such as Zoomboom, SkidSteer, and loaders is an asset.
- Flexible to work weekends and after-hours as needed (being on call).
- Must be able to travel for work for days at a time.
- Familiarity with compressors and electrical components are considered assets.
- Ability to work in dusty and dirty environments.
- Must be able to lift 80 lbs bags.
- Experience hauling trailers behind pickup trucks is an asset.
- Being safety oriented and following HSE protocols is a requirement.
- Certification in H2S Alive, First Aid, and Confined Space are assets.
