**About The Opportunity**:
Working as an integral part of the Ta na wa Shéway I7x̱w ta Úxwumixw Planning and Capital Projects Department, this position reports directly to the Director of Planning and Capital Projects, the GIS Specialist provides technical and research assistance to the SN departments regarding GIS requests or legal survey requests. The incumbent is responsible for GIS data entry, updating and for designing maps for GIS projects. The position requires solid knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise, research, writing code and project administration. This is an intermediate position whose incumbent is strong interpersonally, technically and administratively.

**What You Bring**:

- Combination of education and experience.
- GIS Diploma/Degree or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution
- Working knowledge and experience in ArcGIS Enterprise including ArcGIS server and portal, and ArcGIS Online.
- Conceptual understanding and basic working knowledge of AutoCAD and FME.
- Experience with scripting, especially Python, JavaScript, and SQL.
- Familiarity with Provincial and Federal Data warehouses and GIS data formats.
- Professional, adaptable communication style with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others.
- Demonstrates exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills.
- High level of emotional intelligence, maturity, patience, and integrity.
- Maintains composure in high-pressure situations.
- Able to disseminate complex information to stakeholders in a meaningful way.
- Resourceful and organized with excellent time and project management abilities.
- Able to deliver negative information tactfully and diplomatically when needed. Acts ethically and handles sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Team-oriented with a positive, approachable attitude.

**Salary**: $ 76,499 - $ 85,634 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits program.
