Overview:

PhotoSat is a pioneering technology company specializing in satellite-based elevation surveying and alteration mineral mapping. Our clients are diverse, spanning Mining Engineers, Geologists, Geophysicists, and more across the globe.

We're seeking a highly skilled and proactive individual to fill this critical role. As a Senior Satellite Data Acquisition Specialist, you'll work closely with our Production Team, Project Managers, and Account Executives to acquire satellite imagery from leading commercial operators.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Extensive experience working with modern Earth Observation Imaging Satellites, including a deep understanding of their capabilities and operational timelines.
  • Familiarity with satellite data providers' platforms, such as Maxar, Airbus, Planet, USGS, and European Space Agency.
  • Strong knowledge of international coordinate systems, vertical datums, and custom local projections.
  • An organized and detail-oriented approach, with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to write clear and concise emails to internal and external stakeholders.
  • A strong desire to learn and adapt to new technologies and platforms, with a passion for STEM topics and GIS.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Geography or a related field, with a GIS certificate and proficiency in Esri ArcGIS or QGIS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acquire satellite data from various providers based on client requirements.
  • Solicit quotations from satellite data providers and evaluate options to identify the most cost-effective solution.
  • Negotiate prices with suppliers to reduce organizational costs.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of historical satellite imagery data acquired by our organization.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Account Executives, and clients to understand project deadlines and set realistic delivery targets.

Salary and Benefits:

$60,000 per year based on experience, plus a range of benefits including casual dress, dental care, extended health care, flexible schedule, on-site gym, paid time off, and vision care.
