Reporting to the Director, People & Culture, the People & Culture Coordinator will focus on supporting various aspects of the employee experience, talent management and culture development. Ottawa Tourism places a strong emphasis on a positive organizational culture. The People & Culture Coordinator will play a role in ensuring the smooth onboarding of new employees and introducing them to the organizational culture.
The People & Culture Coordinator's responsibilities will encompass assisting in the recruitment process, onboarding new employees and organizing events to foster a positive workplace culture. The role requires a high degree of organizational skill, attention to detail, and confidentiality. The People & Culture Coordinator will also be responsible for adapting to evolving tasks and responsibilities and providing valuable feedback to enhance operational efficiency.

**Primary Areas of Responsibility**
- Onboard new employees, providing orientation and ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.
- Organize and coordinate employee engagement activities, events, and initiatives to boost morale and foster a positive workplace culture.
- Participate in the health and safety committee meetings to address and resolve health and safety concerns.
- Stay informed about changes in health and safety legislation and update policies and procedures accordingly.
- Promote diversity and inclusion initiatives within the organization, fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace.
- Actively contribute to the development and promotion of the company culture.
**Essential Qualifications**
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1 year of experience in human resources or a similar role.
- Understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to maintain confidentiality.
**Assets**
- Bilingual in both of Canada’s official languages.
- Previous experience working in tourism, hospitality, or destination management/marketing.
