Working under CLAC Career Development College (CCDC), the _Carpentry Instructor _is responsible the implementation and delivery of carpentry training programs that engage, develop, and train new or prospective apprentices for a career in the carpentry industry.
- Quality instruction for workforce development programs and initiatives, recognizing the diverse range of needs of the adult job seeker, apprentice, and underrepresented groups.

A high level of organizational expertise and knowledge on issues and opportunities related to the field of skilled trades, such as:

- Apprentice recruitment, retention and completion
- Equity, diversity, and inclusion
- Red Seal/provincial apprenticeship systems

**Key Duties & Responsibilities**:The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

- Implement diverse educational tools and practices that enhance student learning experience.
- Work alongside the College Coordinator to create action plans to improve student success outcomes based on reported data.
- Remains current on industry and competitor trends and communicates key information to appropriate individuals.
- Supports CCDC initiatives with a focus on innovative processes and procedures to enhance career growth and opportunities for Alberta’s workforce.

**Qualifications**
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience as a Journeyperson Carpenter.
- Minimum of 2 years of instructional experience.
- Red Seal Journeyperson qualification is required.
- Education in instructional design, curriculum development, or related fields is considered an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.

**Reporting & Accountability**
- The position is based at CLAC Career Development College in Edmonton.
- The position reports directly to the Projects & Programs Manager.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
