We have an opportunity for a** Technical Art Lead **to join our team of developers, creators, and fans, who are passionate about the art and process involved in video game development.

As a Technical Art Lead, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of Technical Art within the franchise, from concept - through production - to release, connecting our engineering and art teams to build the highest quality of games.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Strategize with the Art and Animation Director on the departmental goals and practices that support the team in creating the best gaming experience.
- Lead the department and work toward the operational milestones, allocating and coordinating work to ensure the team stays on schedule and budget.
- Collaborate across departments and own the development of software tools and scripts which improve visual targets and performance of the game.
- Audit and maintain tools to ensure they stay relevant and output continues to meet quality standards for all the teams who rely on them.
- Ensure that our technical tools and pipelines are optimized and scalable to support an increasingly large internal and external team.
- Oversee the design and build of proprietary software solutions that can be used across multiple projects.
- Monitor and raise risks associated with technical art and its development process which may compromise its final quality or overall success.
- Coordinate and conduct meetings with the technical art team on a regular basis to collaborate and resolve creative or technical issues expediently.
- Run the creative, features, and technical documentation process.
- Contribute to the investigation of techniques and methodologies to continually improve the quality and efficiency of resources.
- Work with Production and HR to ensure that the departmental and resourcing needs are identified and met.
- Onboard and provide documentation to ramp up external technical art support resources, including communication plans.
- Facilitate an open, creative, learning environment, where team members are encouraged to generate and follow through on their ideas.
- Develop team members and provide support and mentorship on their growth and performance, performing regular 1:1 meetings and performance reviews.
- Establish, maintain, and enhance relationships with colleagues and external creative resources as needed.

**Skills, Knowledge and Experience**:

- Typically a minimum of 4 to 6+ years of experience in technical art.
- Leadership experience shipping a game title, preferably AAA.
- Proven experience designing and implementing pipelines, tools, and systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and create a collaborative and positive environment.
- Experience with SourceControl (i.e. Perforce, Git, SourceTree etc.)
- Excellent communicator in both verbally and written forms.
- A detail-oriented person with creative and problem-solving skills.
- Expertise in writing and maintaining art pipelines and tools.
- Experience and proficiency with Unity and C#.
