**Position: Mental Health Crisis Response Worker**

**Salary: $27 - $34/hour - Based on qualifications**

**Hours: 35 hours/week, Monday - Friday, 8:30a.m. - 4:30p.m., flexible to work some evenings and weekends**

**JOB SUMMARY**:
Reporting to the Community Wellness Coordinator, the **Mental Health Crisis Response Worker**develops, coordinates, and creates a collaborative and responsive crisis service for individuals in emergency situations.

This position will develop crisis response services, including de-escalation training and build capacity of Oneida Nation of the Thames employees, community groups, individuals and families to respond to critical incident/traumatic events.

This position will provide assessments, crisis intervention, counselling, suicide prevention, community education/programs, referrals, trauma-informed care, and culturally appropriate care to support individuals experiencing crisis.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Social Work **or**related mental health discipline (deemed relevant by interview panel) from a recognized post-secondary institution;
2. Licensed **or** eligible to be licensed with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW);
3. Two (2) years’ experience working directly with clients in a community health care setting;
4. Certificate in Crisis Intervention **or **willing to obtain;
5. Valid First Aid/CPR certification **or **willing to obtain.
