Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Communications, the Communications Coordinator is responsible for supporting key projects and programs for the Sun Life Global Investments, Sun Life Canada Finance and Sun Life Canada HR portfolios. In addition to the skills below, this role will be responsible for taking complex concepts and creating engaging visual content for various audiences, both internally and externally.

**What will you do?**
- Coordinate and support media activities such as media monitoring, media tracking, media reporting, and pulling and maintaining media lists
- Support the team in the execution of key projects and programs, including administrative support for internal events, Town Halls and communications initiatives including graphic design and metrics
- Under the Manager’s direction, coordinate with internal business partners and provide day-to-day communications support and counsel on key projects and programs
- Facilitate team administration, including setting up team meetings, calendars, meeting minutes, and other online intake forms to ensure the team runs efficiently
- Select the appropriate channels for communication and coordinate translation, creative services, and distribution
- Review and proofread internal and external written communications as needed

**What do you need to succeed?**
- University Degree or College Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or another related field
- 1 - 3 years’ experience in a support position or equivalent role; experience with corporate writing and journalism is preferred
- Superior writing skills with the ability to create visual and engaging content
- Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, HTML, video production/editing, photography, and other tools
- Demonstrated knowledge of media relations best practices and procedures, and prior exposure to various communication channels with an understanding of the pros and cons of each
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment
- Positive and proactive, with experience developing new ideas and recommending creative and outside-the-box solutions
- Passion for research, problem solving, and analyzing data
- Bilingualism (English/French) an asset
