Reporting to the Supervisor, Inventory & Logistics, we are seeking a Clerk V to join our team in Edmonton, AB. The Clerk V role will be an integral member of the Inventory & Logistics Team and will be responsible for performing a wide variety of specialized and complex administrative activities in support of the business area and may have greater impact to the organization. The work is performed within several defined policies and procedures and may require coordinating the efforts of others in related work. This position is responsible for interpreting data and results, and exceptions are analyzed and resolved by changing steps/tasks. In addition, the Clerk V will Identify and implement processes and procedures within defined assignments in support of continuous improvement initiatives, providing recommendations that affect tasks or could change outcomes. This position works under occasional supervision and work is conducted within general guidelines, instructions, and precedents.

**WHAT YOU GET TO DO**:

- Support Inventory and Logistics business functions and provide administrative expertise to processes
- Develop and maintain reports and reporting systems in support of the business function (examples may include but are not limited to: Reports on transportation metrics, etc.)
- Analyze and interpret complex data and make recommendations (examples may include but are not limited to: utilizing transportation management systems (e.g., Eyefreight) databases
- Conduct quality assurance and control activities (examples may include but are not limited to: Coordinate the movement of products and materials to warehouses and project sites while ensuring adherence to industry regulations, support the release of shipments in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to all government policies and regulations, etc.)
- Implement document management and control systems and processes
- Identify, investigate, analyze, and provide recommendations to resolve specialized issues
- Research and compile data from multiple internal and external sources in support of various initiatives (examples may include but are not limited to: Schedule material pickup and deliveries based on equipment availability and operations priority, etc.)
- Prepare complex/specialized documents to fulfill legal and/or regulatory requirements
- Consult with other departments and resolve escalated issues (examples may include but are not limited to: Action customer queries regarding transportation arrangements, and support the resolution of complaints, escalating to supervisor when required, support performance conversations with Customs Broker and transportation service providers to ensure that the vendor is adhering to performance and service level commitments, etc.)
- Review work and/or provide support for junior positions or new employees (examples may include but are not limited to: Training peers within the team for vacation coverage, new hires etc.)
- Develop and implement specialized administrative processes and conduct continuous improvement activities (examples may include but are not limited to: Develop Customs process documents for internal use while adhering to all Government policies and regulations, etc.)
- Coordinate cross-functional activities and/or processes
- Coordinate stakeholder and customer information and inquiries (examples may include but are not limited to: Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to optimize transportation services, coordinate logistics services through third party freight providers, analyze load and shipment information from the customer and support them in determining appropriate shipment modes, etc.)
- Other duties of a similar nature.

**WHO YOU ARE**:

- Must have High School Diploma
- Post-Secondary Certificate in related field is required
- Minimum of five (5) years related experience (related experience may include but is not limited to: customs and transportation coordination and support, etc.)
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills with an ability to manage multiple competing requests
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
- Proven ability to conduct quality assurance and control activities on own work and work of others
