**Job Description**:
The incumbent provides information and communicates to current and prospective students, applicants, guidance counsellors, parents, faculty and college administrators regarding a broad range of PLAR options. The incumbent supports the College’s recruitment and admissions efforts by delivering information sessions on and off campus and travelling locally and throughout the province at various college fairs, post

The incumbent will update communications when information is revised or new information is obtained regarding transfer credits and pathways. The PLAR Coordinator, through various training sessions, will also train staff on new initiatives, and revisions to the current process and highlight Ministry changes that impact transfer options.

The PLAR Coordinator is responsible for acting as a key resource for Admissions Officers, the Enrolment Services Representatives, the College faculty and IT Support in the Registrar’s Office. Any major issues with regard to PLAR are sent to the PLAR Coordinator for review and for decision-making.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Support Pathways and Transfer Operations, including:- Analyzing and recommending solutions or enhancements to PLAR processes;- Maintenance of existing pathways, including initiating renewals and database updates;- Liaising with all functional areas of the Office of the Registrar and Faculties when necessary to resolve student issues or concerns;- Researching Canadian colleges and universities for best practices regarding PLAR evaluation practices;- Collection and analysis of data to support the pathway processes;

Providing advising services to students about options for receiving credit for prior learning:- Providing information and communicating with current and prospective students, applicants, guidance counsellors, parents, faculty and college administrators regarding a broad range of PLAR and admissions-related questions/topics;- Advises current and prospective students on processes to receive credit for prior post-secondary experience through credit transfer, advanced standing and pathways;System Maintenance and Maintain Student Records:- Testing and validating existing processes when system enhancements are released;- Working with the Manager, Admissions and the Registrar’s Office Reporting team to respond to requests for PLAR reports;- Monitoring statistical reports to identify any anomalies that are causing delays in processes or in any way limiting the delaying the decision to grand or deny a student’s request.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum three (3) year Degree/Diploma or equivalent; Business Administration, Public Administration, Office Administration or similar field;- Minimum of three (3) years experience - Progressive office experience in a service area or in a business office setting; experience in a student service environment or Registrar’s Office preferred;- Experience assessing transfer credit is an asset and experience with databases and a Student Information System is preferred.

- Flexible schedule accommodated: 3 shifts at 8 hours per day OR;- 4 shifts at 6 hours per day.
