Reporting to the Education Manager, the Academic coordinator for Accounting and Business Program Coordinator is responsible for delivering components of the courses to students. The coordinator will actively support all students with a balanced Heritage College curriculum. To support the department by taking on practical roles of responsibility for administrative activities. To join and work cohesively within a highly motivated and professional group of instructors. Linking and communicating effectively with support staff. This position is for work from the office.
- **Support for Learning and Teaching**_
- Assist in the educational and social development of students
- Assist in the implementation and planning of Individual Education Programs for students and the monitoring of student's academic progress
- Maintain The LMS system with students’ information and course contents
- Adhere to the college policies and ensure adherence by faculty and students
- Assist in the development of the future plans for new cohorts, programs, and courses
- Support faculty in their requests and assist them in course delivery
- Assist in handling students’ complaints and address them in a timely manner
- **Administrative Duties**_
- Assist in the maintaining of student records
- Support students with emotional/behavioural problems and help develop their social skills/behaviours, including the implementation of behaviour modification programs when required with all the Heritage College Program.
- Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom, including supporting access educational visits and whole school activities, to enable students to fully participate in activities
- Prepare and present displays of students' work: teachers will make professional decisions in determining what material is displayed. Support Instructor in photocopying and other tasks to support Learning and Teaching
- Undertake other duties from time to time as the instructor/ office managers require including Copy typing and Inputting student data; Producing class lists; Recordkeeping, filing; Collating material; Stocktaking; Cataloging, preparing, issuing, and maintaining equipment and materials and Ordering supplies and equipment. Standards and Quality Assurance
- Support the aims and ethos of the School and Department by behaviours that display concern for the student as a whole person, tact, discretion, confidentiality, and the willingness to work as a member of a team.
- Set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality, and attendance
- Under the direction of the Education Manager and Academic, Coordinators oversee the process of managing textbooks (can include ordering, receiving orders and releasing books and supplies to students). Shipping of materials can be delegated to the administrative assistant or another staff member.
- Maintain college inventory of equipment and sign out to instructors when required.
- Responsible for maintenance of college equipment, both classroom and lab, where applicable
- Attend all monthly instructor meetings and take minutes.

**Qualifications and Education**

To be successful in the Education position, individuals must be committed to developing, maintaining, and demonstrating the following:

- A certificate/diploma/degree related to adult education
- Previous adult teaching experience in a North American Institute is **mandatory**:

- Previous background or education in community and social services is required
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office and/or database systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience creating a stimulating, effective, and learner-centred environment.
- Experience preparing, reviewing, and/or updating course material.
- Experience marking, grading, and evaluating student work.
- Experience providing ongoing feedback, guidance, and assistance to students.
- Passion for teaching, ability to inspire students, and commitment to student learning and success
- Ability to work effectively in a variety of team environments
- Proven commitment to continuous learning and reflective practice
- Covid Proof of vaccination is required to work from the office.
- Flexibility with the schedule is required for weekdays and weekends
- Job will be in person for 3-4 days per week

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week

**Salary**: $22.00-$27.00 per hour
