The Desktop Support Analyst at Herman’s Supply Company supports the corporate IT infrastructure which spans multiple offices and retail locations. They will have an opportunity to hone their skills in a wide array of IT skillsets. As the front-line helpdesk for a multi-location business, you’ll combine your technical skills with your customer service skills to keep our staff operating at peak efficiency. You’ll put your networking skills to good use keeping all of our satellite sites connected and installing the equipment and wiring that will keep us competitive
**RESPONSIBILITIES**Monitor IT systems and respond to IT issues using IT management software.-
Troubleshoot for all corporate equipment including PC, MAC, Tablets, smart phones, VOIP, servers, and network issues.-
Install, configure, upgrade and patch Windows operating environments-
Active Directory implementation, restructuring, and administration-
Installing low voltage cables, security cameras, racks and other security equipment, such as access control, intercoms and alarms.-
Work with staff and vendors to complete routine maintenance on the network servers, desktops, laptops, printers, smart phones and specialized equipment as required.-
Liaise with vendors and contracted service providers.**KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**:
Completion of College and/or University IT related program is required.-
Certifications and/or training provided by software/hardware vendors would be an asset-
Strong troubleshooting skills are required.-
High level understanding of IT security principles is required-
Knowledge of SAN (Storage Area Network) systems-
Knowledge of Ubiquiti networking equipment an asset-
Knowledge of VOIP systems an asset-
Service-oriented approach, focused on understanding and satisfaction of internal clients.-
Working Windows environment experience-
Able to support/troubleshoot over phone and through remote tools.**SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS**:
Minimum 3+ years of work experience in IT related field is required-
Experience managing hardware, software, and networks is required-
Experience with server and network management tools tools is required-
Networking experience is required (routing, vlans, switching, firewall, wireless, etc); experience in a multi-location environment is preferred-
Windows 2008/2012/2016/2019 Server Security, backup solutions, disaster recovery-
Office 365 administration experience required.-
VMware ESXi administration an asset.-
Basic familiarity with Linux an asset.-
Strong documentation and procedure writing skills with keen attention to detail-
Experienced in technical training to end users.-
