Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a **Manager, Design for Manufacture**.

The Design for Manufacture (DFM), Manager is a full-time permanent position that will report to the Engineering, Director and will be responsible for a leading a team of Capability Leads, Engineers, and Specialists.

The Design for Manufacture (DFM), Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the interim product standard definitions are developed prior to M-BoM hierarchy creation.

Part of the Design for Manufacture philosophy is that Interim Product Standards will reduce variation in the design by aligning it with production capabilities and constraints.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: Academically qualified as an Engineer with a recognized university bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar
- **Experience**: 5+ Years or more experience in shipbuilding or related area.
- Extensive knowledge of Design for Manufacture processes
- Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes
- Strong skills in organizing and managing large number people and tasks with varying priorities.
- Good technical and business aptitude
- All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)._

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage department work-scope including people.
- Department communication (Internal and External)
- Senior level meetings/communications
- Government/Customer engagement
- Change management
