Women’s Age Lab is the first and only centre of its kind, that is solely focused on improving the lives of older women by using science to transform care and practice, and drive health system and social change. Women’s Age Lab is committed to emphasizing diversity and inclusion of individuals from all genders, age, race, and socio-economic backgrounds in everything that we do, to ensure better quality and more well-rounded evidence that considers the distinct health experiences of older women. The lab brings together the work of researchers, healthcare providers, community based organizations, and policy makers, from diverse backgrounds, who are passionate about health equity and healthy aging to drive change and have a meaningful impact for this population.
Summary of Duties:
Content Creation:
- Develop and curate engaging social media content aligned with the lab's research objectives
- Draw key messages from our research initiatives and publications to translate complex scientific concepts into accessible and compelling posts
- Assist in the development of social media campaigns, graphics, infographics and/or other multimedia elements
Social Media Monitoring & Engagement:
- Monitor social media accounts to ensure a consistent and impactful online presence
- Utilize analytic tools to monitor and assess social media performance
- Identify trends and insights to optimize social media performance
- Stay up-to-date with social media best practices and new features
- Actively engage with the lab's online community, respond to comments, and foster meaningful conversations
- Identify and collaborate with influencers, organizations, and communities relevant to the lab's research focus
Research Support:
- Assist researchers in the dissemination of research findings through social media channels
- Stay informed about current research trends and developments to inform content creation
- Contribute to the creation of educational materials or resources based on research findings for public dissemination
- Explore and recommend emerging technologies or trends that could enhance the lab's digital presence and research outreach efforts
As a role model and champion, you will work to identify and integrate safe, best practices into daily activities to foster the delivery of safe and exemplary care.

Qualifications/Skills:
- Undergraduate degree in science, health or social science, communications, marketing, or a related field
- Currently a graduate student in a science, health or social science, communications, marketing, or a related field
- Minimum one (1) year of professional experience in managing social media accounts, preferably in a healthcare or research related field
- Strong writing and editing skills, and familiarity with social media best practices and emerging trends
- Experience using Canva, Mailchimp, Wordpress, Adobe Creative Suite or similar platforms
- Creativity and ability to create visually appealing content, including graphics, infographics, and other multimedia elements
- Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization principles to enhance the discoverability of research-related content is an asset
- Ability to work effectively both in a team environment and independently
- Ability to meet tight and fluid deadlines
- Demonstrate high level of attention to detail
- Knowledge of applicable legislation, policies and procedures
