Night Cleaner/heavy Duty Cleaner

**The opportunity**:
The Night Cleaner/Heavy Duty Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the facility in ‘as new’ condition
by ensuring a high standard of deep cleaning and general maintenance.
**In this role, you will**:
- Demonstrate strong support and commitment to serving the membership, facility users and all program participants of the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka.
- Maintain a high level of cleaning at all times as per YMCA protocols, and standards.
- Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of the equipment, products, procedures and standards involved in the ongoing deep cleaning of the facility.
- Respond to general maintenance requirements and other duties when assigned by Supervisor, Cleaning & Maintenance.
- Communicate all system malfunctions, mechanical deficiencies and service disruptions to the Supervisor, Cleaning and Maintenance or Duty Manager.
- Communicate effectively with day staff to ensure transfer of information necessary for effective facility operations.
- Maintain all Health and Safety requirements/qualifications, including but not limited to WHMIS, Employee Health and Safety, etc.
- Respond to the safety, service and security issues of members and participants in a respectful and courteous manner.
- Adherence to all provincial and federal legislation relevant to job description.

- Strong practical knowledge of cleaning procedures, standards and practices.
- WHMIS Certification
- Physical readiness to work
- Emergency Training
- Current First Aid/CPR certification
- Willingness to participate in mandated training to be completed before or shortly after commencement of work including:
- AODA Training
- Health & Safety Awareness Training
- Bill 168 (Violence & Harassment in the Workplace) Training
- PCI Compliance
- WHMIS
- Child Protection Training
